Barber Shop's Move Offers New 'Amazing' Opportunity

Owner and operator Bryan Combs opened Westminster Barber Shop along with three co-workers in 2001.

The co-workers have since left the shop but Combs has continued to run the business with the help of his wife, his daughter, his parents and a group of "outstanding employees" over the past 12 years.  

Combs admits that operating a small business is extremely hard work. Despite the large number of chain shops that have opened up in Westminster offering hair cutting and barber services, Combs feels that the Westminster Barber Shop continues to offer a unique personal experience.

“I know every customer who comes in my shop by their first name. I know their wife and kids by name and I usually know where they work.” Combs said.  “I’m even starting to get to know my customers' grandkids' names at this point in my career!”

The business motto of the Westminster Barber Shop is: “We specialize in cutting hair correctly, the way you like it.” In order to keep this promise, Combs prides himself on having little to no employee turnover, and only hiring highly experienced master barbers (which hold a different license than stylists).

Recently, the landlord of the strip where the Westminster Barber Shop is located decided to sell the location forcing the shop to seek out a new home.

“I probably wouldn't have moved on my own,” Combs said. “But since we don’t have a choice at this point, I’m looking forward to the opportunity!”

The Westminster Barber Shop will be joining the retail establishments at the Fairground Village Shopping Center in mid-June. They have already begun working on the new shop and the staff of the Westminster Barber Shop is all excited about their new location.  

“Our new shop is going to be amazing! Brand new and nothing like anything in the Westminster area.” Combs said. “But most importantly, we will continue to offer the same great personalized customer service just the way we always have!”
