Pass The Pie Please: Where to Find Homemade Holiday Sweets

If you are looking for Thanksgiving sweets but have no time to bake, check out these local bakeries.

Bullock's Family Restaurant:  Bullocks not only offers carryout services from its deli and homemade ice cream, but its bakery also hosts a tremendous selection of fresh pies and other desserts.  

While the staff admits that pumpkin is their most popular pie, they also carry a wide variety of others, including apple and lemon meringue.

Located at 2020 Sykesville Road, Bullock’s Bakery is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Baugher’s Orchard Bakery: Baugher’s is well-known in the community for its orchard and restaurant.   But Baugher’s Orchard Bakery has also been serving up a wide variety of fresh-baked pies and other baked goods since the 1940s.

Pies are available in 10 inch, 8 inch or 6 inch in over fifteen varieties.  “Specialty Pies” are available in 10 inch or 8 inch in twelve different varieties.

There are also sugarless fruit pies available in:

  • Sugarless Cherry
  • Sugarless Peach
  • Sugarless Pumpkin

 Locally owned and operated since 1972, Heinz Bakery provides eat-in and take-out of their fresh made pastries and pies. 

8 inch pies are available in:

Orders are preferred two days before Thanksgiving.  Call to order or visit Heinz Bakery at 42 West Main Street. Open Monday through Saturday from 5:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. 

 

Starry Night Bakery: While known locally for their cakes, and nationally for their appearance on Cupcake Wars, Starry Night Bakery also provides a variety of fresh-baked holiday pies.

Homemade varieties include:

  • Coconut Cream
  • Peanut Butter Mousse
  • Pumpkin
  • Coconut Custard
  • Egg Custard
  • Peaches -N- Cream
  • Cranberry Apple
  • Apple, Pecan
