Health Care can be fun, really

Diane Link, Executive Director of Carroll Hospice, introduces herself as Patch's newest blogger and gives a shout out to those who helped make the Taste of Carroll fundraiser a huge success.

I am so excited to become part of Patch.com bloggers. My name is Diane Link and I am a fourth generation Carroll Countian and graduate of Westminster High School, Carroll Community College and Catonsville Community College and soon to be graduate (2 more weeks) from Baker College with a BA in Health Care Administration. Probably even more unique is that I have only ever worked in Carroll County! I am currently the Executive Director for Carroll Hospice/Carroll Home Care and a registered nurse. As you can tell I am proud of Carroll County. For those of you that have met me you know I love to talk and one of my favorite topics to talk about is health care. I hope to share with you some of the fun, fascinating and also serious health care issues that are occurring in our county, our state and even in our nation. Health care issues fun, you ask? Yes, I can even make health care issues fun,  just you wait.

I want to send out a big THANK YOU to Carroll Hospice supporters that came out for the Taste of Carroll on May 9 at Gerstell Academy. It was a terrific night with over 35 food and wine vendors, an exciting silent and live auction and a great time to see friends that I haven’t seen in a long time. This event raised over $100,000 for Carroll Hospice. Carroll Hospice depends on events like this to help support the mission of hospice to providing quality end of life care, symptom management and bereavement support to our community. I look forward to sharing information with you in the coming weeks. If there is anything specific that you would like to hear about drop me a line. I like to say if I don’t know the answer, I know who to ask to find out.
