A Stone’s Throw: Hanover, PA

Primarily known for manufacturing shoes and snacks, the city of Hanover is a great destination for a day trip, just 30 minutes from Westminster.

Hanover Pa. was established in 1763. The main square in town was designed as a hub for five streets which lead out to surrounding towns. These five streets are named for the surrounding towns which they lead to: Abbottstown, Baltimore, Carlisle, Frederick and York.

Stores and eateries now line this town square, making a nice backdrop for a leisurely stroll.  We’ve outlined a few other things worth checking out during your visit to Hanover.
