Area Gas Prices Down Slightly

National as well as area gas prices are down slightly this week, relieving consumers from climbing prices during the summer months. 

The current national average of $3.60 is down 7 cents from this time last week, according to AAA. 

The national average increased 20 cents through the month of July with the state average increasing 15 cents last month and $1.05 from that time last year, according to AAA.

The current state average has decreased 6 cents since this time last week and is sitting at $3.61 for a gallon of regular gas, according to AAA. 

The cheapest area station as of noon Monday is $3.45 at Sheetz, 304 E. Main St., according to Gasbuddy.com. 

There are 12 area stations below the $3.60 mark for a gallon of regular gas, while no stations in the area have reached below $3.45.
