Catching Hail: Storms Arrive in Carroll County
Rain and small hail fell in Finksburg at around 4:30 p.m.; BGE warns customers to be prepared for possible power outages.
Carroll County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. and the heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m., according to Weather Underground.
As a result of the potential for severe weather, Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) has released a statement warning customers of possible power outages.
The statement said that a cold front forecast for today could trigger scattered thunderstorms which could cause outages throughout BGE’s service area. According to the release, BGE has deployed its Mobile Operations Center to assist restoration efforts.

BGE recommends that customers be prepared for power outages by having some necessities on hand: flashlights, fresh batteries, charged cell phones, food and blankets. Additionally, BGE suggests customers with well water fill a bathtub with water in advance of severe weather.
