They truly don't know what they're doing! I barely ran my heat in Feb yet they charged me $516 after my Jan bill was $491 and we turned everything down or off. -- Michelle Jefferson

County's Balanced Budget Plan Said to be in Jeopardy

Part of the blame lies with the state. They can't budget their own finances, so they throw it on the backs of the local jurisdictions. --Native

I'm very, very pleased to hear someone dump the responsibility right back into the commissioners' laps. And about that property tax rate, of which you were quoted as saying, "Every penny you go down (reduce the property tax rate) will take another $2 million off the bottom line," keep hammering them! I'm sure, like me, you heard Commissioner Frazier say at the recent Chamber of Commerce breakfast that she hopes they can reduce it again this year. She clearly doesn't get it. Keep at 'em, Ted. You're our only hope! --Bonnie Grady

Poll: Should Carroll County Invest in Gold?

It really isn't county business. That's part of the problem. The county isn't doing business with foreign countries. Why would the county need to invest in foreign currencies? Is Rothschild afraid Maryland will start trading in pesos and Carroll County won't be ready? --newsjunkie

So he wants to look into diversifying the investments, what's wrong with that? Seems to me he's being a good stewerd of the county's money. --Native

Feds Target Maryland Raw Milk Buyers
