Did You Know?: Carroll Mail Route 1903

A quick look at how mail was delivered at the turn of the century.

Each week, Westminster Patch will feature a "Did You Know?" segment, highlighting a little known fact or providing a glimpse into Carroll County's history.

Today's glimpse into the past looks at mail delivery in 1903 in Carroll County. This video is courtesy of the Library of Congress and was filmed by a Thomas Edison movie crew. The estimated date of the film is August 22, 1903.

Carroll County enjoyed the first complete rural free delivery service in the United States, according to the Farm Museum.
