Dog Bites Person, Health Department Asks For Help

A dog bit a person on Sykesville Road in Westminster on April 23.

The Carroll County Health Department is asking area residents for their help in finding a dog that bit a person on April 23. 

The incident happened on Sykesville Road in Westminster and the dog is still on the loose, according to the Carroll County Health Department. 

The dog is described as an adult black rottweiler mix. The victim of the attack had seen the dog around the crossroads of Sykesville Road and Nottingham Drive in Westminster on previous occasions.

The victim of the attack will be treated with a series of postexposure rabies shots, according to the health department.

Anyone with information that may help locate this dog or its owner is asked to contact the Carroll County Health Department at (410) 876-1884 or the Carroll County Humane Society at (410) 848-4810.
