Earth Day Fair to Be Held at Carroll Hospital Center

Looking for ways to be more green?

You can find some ideas at the Earth Day Fair scheduled for 10 a.m., April 22, at the Carroll Hospital Center, 200 Memorial Ave., in Westminster.

Vendors from various areas businesses and organizations will be there to discuss how people can make their homes and workplaces more earth-friendly, according to the Westminster Patch Events Section.

Carroll Community College also is holding an Earth Day celebration April 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Great Hall, according to the college’s website.

Also, event attendees at the Carroll Hospital fair are encouraged to bring items for recycling or proper disposal.

Those items, according to Carroll Hospital Center, include:

• Eye glasses
• Used greeting cards
• Mercury thermometers (they can be exchanged for a new digital one)
• Cell phones
• Rechargeable batteries
• Expired or unused prescriptions or over-the-counter medications for proper disposal (no syringes and liquids must be in a sealed plastic bag)
• Pens (Paper Mate®, Sharpie® or Expo® brands only).
