Egg Hunts and Easter Festivities Around Westminster

Don't miss these opportunities to celebrate the big bunny and accompanying Easter holiday traditions.

When: Thursday, March 28 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Kings Park, Chase Street in Westminster
Details: Kids ages 9-12 join Westminster Department of Recreation and Parks with your flashlight to hunt for candy at dusk. Candy, games, prizes and more. First 100 kids get their very own flashlight. Call 410-848-9161 for details

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Westminster City Park

When: Saturday, March 30 10:30 a.m. (ages 1-4) 11:30 a.m. (ages 5-8)
Where: Westminster City Park (behind 11 Longwell Avenue)
Description: Join the Easter Bunny at the Annual Egg Hunt. There are over 4,000 plastic filled eggs with 100 special prize eggs. The hunts are free and open to the public. Bring a basket! A bunny petting zoo is also offered. Face painting, basket raffles, and food will be available for purchase. Call 410-848-9161 for more information.

Y of Central Maryland's Spring Eggstravaganza

When: Saturday, March 30, all day
Where: Y of Central Maryland, Hill Family Center, 1719 Sykesville Rd, Westminster
Description: Participants will enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, games, crafts and much more. Space is limited, so please register in advance. 
Cost: This event is free for Y members

 

An Easter Egg Hunt to Benefit Carroll Hospice

When: This event was originally scheduled for March 16 but has been rescheduled for April 7 due to inclement weather. The event is from 10 a.m. til noon. 

Where: Shuttling from Winters Mill High School, 560 Gorsuch Rd., Westminster, to Killarney Drive
Description: An Easer egg hunt and more family entertainment including face painting, crafts, refreshments, a magician and photos with the Easter Bunny. For tickets or more information, call Amanda Vetter or Amy Zepp at 410-871-7220 or download a ticket form here.
Cost: Tickets are $10 per child; adult admission is free. Proceeds from the Easter egg hunt benefit Carroll Hospice.

 

Easter Eggstravaganza at the Baltimore Humane Society

When: Saturday, March 30, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: 1601 Nicodemus Rd, Reisterstown
Cost: Free, but donations strongly encouraged
Description:  Enjoy photos with the Easter Bunny for pets and kids, Easter egg hunt, I Spy Cat Detective games, bake sale, Tiki's Playhouse Ice-Cream Truck for Dogs and a special 2 p.m. performance by Charm City Dance Theatre who will shimmy and bop to The Bunny Hop.  

 

The Great Easter Vigil: A Creation Liturgy Concert 

When: Saturday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. 
Where: Ascension Episcopal Church, 23 N Court St, Westminster
Description: Easter Vigil is a traditional Anglican service of prayer beginning at sundown on Holy Saturday with a bonfire in the courtyard of the Church of the Ascension.  Then moving into the Church to hear the record of God's saving deeds in creation.  The Ascend Praise band will rock the rafters of the Old Stone Church with modern praise music.   All are welcome to share in the celebration of the Light of the World conquering darkness. 

 

6th Annual PEEP Show at the Carroll Arts Center

When: March 28 through April 7, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, including Easter Sunday
Where: Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main St., Westminster
Description: Enjoy hundreds of artistic masterpieces made out, you guessed it, marshmallow Peeps. You'll be amazed what someone can do with a few Peeps. 
Cost: Free to attend, opportunities to donate to Arts Council initiatives through voting, food purchases and other activities. 

 

Carroll County Farmers' Market Easter Show

When: March 30, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Carroll County Agricultural Center, Westminster
Description: Easter candy, Easter flowers, Easter bunny, 100 vendors with hand made crafts, home baked goods, gourmet foods, plants, breakfast and lunch served.
