The southern end of Carroll County--Eldersburg and Sykesville--has the highest concentration of outages, according to Matt Miziorko, Carroll County Emergency Management Specialist.

"Although we didn't get hit as hard as other counties, we are still doing everything we can to get residents, particularly across Eldersburg and Sykesville, back to full power," Miziorko said.

The Salvation Army is offering free water to residents who still don't have power. Interested residents can pick up water at the Salvation Army, located at 300 Hahn Road in Westminster. The location will only be open until 4:30 p.m. today. The Salvation Army does not have containers for the water, so any resident in need of this assistance must bring appropriate containers to fill.

People without power can also take advantage of Carroll County public libraries and senior centers around the county. These cooling centers offer a cool place to relax and plug in.
