Why go: An array of annuals, perennials, vegetables, hanging baskets and small shrubs will be available at the 42nd annual Flower and Plant Market at Union Mills Homestead. Carroll County master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. In addition, there will be children's activities, presentations and workshops. Guided tours of the Historic Shriver Homestead and Grist Mill offered too.

“The Room”

Why Go: Written, directed, produced, and starring the enigmatic Tommy Wiseau, “The Room” is a black comedy about love, passion, betrayal and lies, with the basic story of the film following a love triangle between three friends. Age restriction: Under 17 not permitted without a parent.

“National Velvet”

English Garden Tea

Why Go: The Ladies Auxiliary of the Westminster Rescue Mission will host an English Garden Tea. The gathering features a silent auction, door prizes and music, with guest speaker Dr. Elizabeth Foy, of the Hedges and Hyways Ministries.

Mandolin Magic

Why Go: The Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra will perform a mix of classical music, show tunes, marches and rags under the directorship of David Evans. The orchestra is a Maryland-based ensemble of mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, mandobasses and classical guitars. The concert is sponsored by the Community Concert Association.
