Grab and Go Kids Planner: Civil War Ball, Roller Derby and more

Fun things to do around town with your family this weekend.

Welcome to this weeks edition of Patch's Grab and Go. This is where you will find kid-friendly events to add to your families calendar for this weekend.

1.

Where/when: Westminster Family Center, Westminster, Saturday March 26 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why go: Dress up in formal or period clothing from the Civil War era and listen to  live music by Peg Shutes and Bruce Young as you and your family dance the night away. Civil War period dance instruction will be provided along with refreshments, door prizes and more.

Pricing: $20 adults, $10 for ages 13-17, Free for children 12 and under.

Where/when: New Windsor Middle School, New Windsor, Saturday March 26, 7:30 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy the advanced handbell ensembles from Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina as they come together to form a mass choir presenting a handbell concert. 

Pricing: Free admission, donations will be gratefully accepted.

Where/when: Carroll County Agricultural Center, Westminster, Saturday, March 26 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why go: Cheer on the co-ed Pirate themed roller derby team as they skate to their own rules. Children of all ages are welcome although parents should expect mild PG-13 level banter.

Pricing: $10 adult tickets advance purchase, $5 kids 12 and under, game day tickets $15 adults, $8 kids 12 and under.

4. The Bounce About Celebrates Three Years at the Town Mall 

Where/when: The Town Mall of Westminster next to Sears, Saturday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, March 27  from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: Celebrate the three year anniversary of The Bounce About at The Town Mall with $3 Wristbands to play all day. A good opportunity to shop and play.

Pricing: $3 for a wristband good for all day.

5.

Where/when: Carroll Springs Elementary School, Westminster, Friday, March 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why go: Support Carroll Springs Elementary School while enjoying a plate of spaghetti with your family.

Pricing: $7 adults, $4 children 6 and under.
