Heatwave Coming to Carroll County

Here's a look at the week's forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

This week’s forecast is fairly straightforward. Sunny and Hot. That’s about it. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), today marks the first day of what will be “the first heat wave of the summer,” as we haven’t seen a 95-degree day since last September.

We’ll see the heat index approaching 100 degrees by the end of the week and few clouds – which means little shade, so stay hydrated, stay covered or stay inside with the air conditioning.

Monday’s, temperatures will reach the low-90s by about 3 p.m. Skies should be sunny. There is a slight chance of rain tonight, when temperatures drop to the low-70s.

Tuesday morning should bring a little fog. Otherwise, expect the same, low-90s temperatures, dropping to the mid-70s, and there’s no rain in Tuesday night’s forecast.

Temperatures are expected to creep up a bit Wednesday, to the mid-90s under clear, sunny skies. Temperatures will drop to the mid-70s at night.

More sun Thursday and temperatures will remain in the mid-90s, dropping to the mid-70s at night.

On Friday, temperatures will crawl back down to the low-90s during the day with clear, sunny skies. Temperatures will drop to the low-70s at night.

By Saturday, temperatures will drop down to the high-80s. Maybe that’s the cold front that NWS said it expects, bringing with it a chance of rain and thunderstorms all weekend.
