Here are some tips for being prepared for a storm emergency with your pet:

  • Keep your veterinary information and your pet's records together.
  • Know where the nearest 24-hour vet is.
  • Have a travel kit ready. Your travel kit should include food, treats, food and water bowls, information on your pet, medications, familiar toys, bedding and a first aid kit.
  • Have a list of pet friendly hotels on hand.
  • Check into long-term lodging options for your pet if for some reason you cannot go to your home but you must still return to work.
