If it's July, it Must be Time for the 4-H FFA Fair

The Annual Fair kicks off Saturday.

Carroll County has grown tremendously in the past 30 years but at the heart of Carroll County remains its agricultural roots. These agricultural and farming roots are celebrated and highlighted at the annual 4-H and FFA Fair at the Ag Center.

And if you live in Westminster, you know it's fair time.

The Ag Center will be buzzing with activity (and animals and crafts and food and people) from July 30 until August 5. There are family activities and contests being judged every day. See the Fair schedule here

Debbie Weishaar is the Carroll County 4-H and FFA Fair Manager. Three of her children grew up involved in 4-H and one of her children is currently in 4-H.

Weishaar said community members should check out the variety of exhibits presented by those in 4-H and FFA exhibitors.

"These projects have been worked on for the entire year," Weishaar said. "I'm sure visitors will find something to amaze them. Our fair's main goal is to highlight our 4-H and FFA exhibitors wonderful accomplishments for the year and to educate the public. When you look at these young peoples accomplishments our future sure looks bright."

Fair goers can expect to see some typical fair events and activities such as a tractor pull (Friday night), animal exhibits, contests, auctions and live music.

But Weishaar said this year they have added a "dog rally" on Wednesday afternoon and "rabbit jumping" several evenings. New in the entertainment arena this year will be the Vintage Grain Truck Race on Friday Aug. 5th.

Weishaar said that the Fair is a fun family event with something to do for everyone.

"There is great food, good people, and an amazing look at our future here in Carroll County," Weishaar said. "Our 4-H & FFA members are the leaders of our future town, county, and Country."
