Pick Up a Book, Pass It Around

Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday today, March 2.

Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday March 2 by joining book lovers and your local school or public library for Read Across America day.

The Westminster Branch of the will host a Read Across America with Dr. Seuss event at 1 p.m. March 2. Participate in the nationwide reading of The Lorax in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. In addition to fun, there will be stories and cake. Children under three should be accompanied by a caregiver.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, is calling on book lovers around the nation to take up The Lorax, the popular Dr. Seuss children's book published in 1971 about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment.
