Poll: Do you send holiday cards?

With Christmas comes a mailbox full of holiday cards.

I typically start getting holiday cards immediately after Thanksgiving. The festive cards roll in from eager moms who want to show off their adorable kids and relatives who are much more organized than me.

I have sent holiday cards in the past, to show off my adorable children decked in elf hats and Christmas tree lights. But then there are years when I am simply too busy or feel too disorganized to get the pictures, order the cards, find addresses, make labels, buy stamps, and actually go to the post office.

An article in the Los Angeles Times reports that fewer people send cards each year. According to market research firm Unity Marketing, the percentage of consumers buying greeting cards for Christmas fell from 77% in 2005 to 73% in 2007 and to 62% in 2009.
