Rain Possible, Then Spring-Like Temperatures for This Weekend in Westminster

The heat scorched the region Wednesday, but the weather is expected to be cooler over the weekend.

The freakish early spring heat this week does not appear to be expected to continue, with mild, spring-like temperatures expected now and throughout the weekend.

On Wednesday, record high temperatures blasted the region, with BWI Airport reaching at least 90 degrees, breaking its record of 89 in 1922, according to the Capital Weather Blog on the Washington Post.

Thursday is expected to reach a high near 72 in Westminster, the National Weather Service says, with showers possible after 2 p.m., as well as Thursday night and early Friday morning.

There is also a threat of showers and thunderstorms Friday morning in Westminster with a high near 68.

Weekend highs will hit the mid-60s.
