Sun is on its Way to Westminster This Week

Here's the weekend's forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

The rain that caused sinkholes, power outages and a state of emergency in Illinois? It's coming our way today, according to the National Weather Service, but there's plenty of sun in the forecast in time for the weekend.

Expect fog Friday morning, before 11. There’s an 80 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. coupled with wind gusts as fast as 36 mph. Temperatures should reach the mid-70s during the day. 

Friday night will bring rain and thunderstorms before midnight and temperatures in the mid-40s.

The sun will come out Saturday, but temperatures will remain mild, hitting the  high-50s during the day and drop to the low-30s at night.

More sun is in the forecast for Sunday, with temperatures reaching the mid-50s during the day, dropping to the high-30s at night.
