Best Bets: Valentine's Day in Westminster

Looking for the perfect Valentine's Day gift or dinner location? Below are options for traditional flowers, treats, jewelry and dinner arrangements in the area.

Flowers

Flowers are a time-tested and traditional way to bring a touch of spring to a chilly Valentine’s Day. Westminster offers a variety of flower shops to choose from including:

Flowers by Evelyn, located at 92 E Main St, in Westminster.  Featured bouquets include a red “Kissed by Tulips Bouquet” for $49.99.

The Cutting Garden, located at 330 140 Village Rd in Westminster also offers the traditional roses but still highlights a number of unique bouquets filled with a variety of other flowers including the “Sweetheart Vase” for $55.

The Flower Box II, situated at 14 W. Main St in Westminster, features an arrangement called “That’s Amore!” which provides a combination of roses and other flowers starting at $65.

Chocolates

You can’t go wrong at the Treat Shop Factory in Town Mall where they offers all things made from, covered with and dipped in chocolate (white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate). Gifts can be customized and built to fit any price range.

Guilianova's Groceria at 11 East Main St. is hand-making chocolate covered long-stemmed Driscoll strawberries injected with Grand Marnier as well as dark chocolate dipped cherries marinated in Jamaican rum or Jack Daniels.

Jewelry

Pomeroy Jewelers at 41 East Main St. offers a variety of classic and contemporary rings, bracelets and necklaces help to say “I love my Valentine”.  They even offer a special collection of Bumble’s Enameled & Bejeweled Trinket Boxes

Unique Jewelry, 15 E. Main St. in Westminster offers a variety of jewelry including custom-made pieces crafted by owner Kim Prehn, a goldsmith/platinumsmith/silversmith.

Dinner Date

Want to treat your significant other to a dinner out? Here are some ideas.

All of the following restaurants expect to be busy on Valentine’s Day and encourage you to make reservations right away.

Treat your significant other to a taste of Ireland at O’Lordans Irish Pub.  Or, if a traditional American menu is more your style, check out their sister restaurant, Johansson’s Dining House.  Johansson’s is offering a special Valentine’s Day Dinner Menu.

Or, just down Main Street you can check out Rafael's Restaurant.  Rafael’s is also serving a special Valentine’s Day menu.   Your choice of a four course meal is priced at $37.99.

If Italian food is more your forte, Liberatori's Westminster  will be offering a special Valentine's Day Menu as well as hosting a ‘Half-Priced Wine’ event.  You and your loved one can enjoy half-priced bottles of wine with your dinner entrée purchase. Limit 3 bottles per table, bottles under $50. Liberatori’s will even re-cork your unfinished bottles for you to take home.

Maggie's offers classic French-style cooking in a casual and intimate atmosphere. Maggie’s is offering a Pint Night Special through Thursday, 8 p.m. – close.

Bud's at Silver Run is committed to cooking with food that is grown and/or raised locally as much as possible. Bud’s also serve wines from local wineries and vineyards.

Paradiso Ristorante offers a selection of traditional and authentic Italian fare served up by Chef Salvatore Romeo in an elegant atmosphere.
