Keep your umbrella handy. May showers will continue today in Westminster, according to the National Weather Service, which is predicting a 70 percent chance of rain and temperatures topping out at 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon, stated the report.

Are you interested in the future plans for Carroll County? Review the first-ever Maryland Growth Plan, which outlines a vision for the state’s sustainable future, and tell state officials what you think of the proposal during an open house at  in Columbia between 5 and 8 p.m. The comment period on the plan ends in September.

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will be relocating to Main Street in September. According to a sign in the window of the former Locust Book Store at 9 E. Main St., the Chamber of Commerce will be occupying the space.

Mike McMullin, president of the chamber of commerce, said the group's lease on its office at Corporate Center Court in Westminster was going to be up at the end of August, and the group had been interested in moving back to Main Street, according to a Carroll County Times article.
