Thunderstorm Watch for Carroll Co. Through 10 P.M. Wednesday

Forecasters are warning of 'damaging wind gusts and large hail.'

by John Davisson

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Carroll County and much of the state through 10 p.m. Wednesday.

"Clusters of thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon and evening," the service warns. "Some of these storms will be capable of becoming severe [and] producing damaging wind gusts and large hail."

The NWS expects the worst of the weather to arrive in the area after 5 p.m.

More thunderstorms are possible on Thursday, too, as a cold front moves through the region. Forecasters caution that heavy rains could lead to flash flooding during the day.

The outlook calls for an overnight low of around 72° and a afternoon high tomorrow near 89°.
