If you were planning on getting out for a good walk today, you better bring your windbreaker. According to AccuWeather.com, there will be wind gusts in the area of up to 36 mph. Temperatures will also remain cool throughout the day despite sunny skies; the temperature will hit a high of 38 degrees with a low of 27 degrees.

Get your fill of local county government today. The Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission meets tonight at 6 p.m. The meeting’s agenda includes a discussion of employment and economic development. For more information on the meeting, click here.

Bring the kids over to the Westminster Branch Library for a story hour beginning at 10:30 a.m. Story time is appropriate for those children ages three to six. In the meantime, an earlier is happening at the Eldersburg Library beginning at 9:45 a.m.

This Day in History:

On this day in history in 1948, a Hindu fanatic fatally shot political and spiritual leader Mohandas Gandhi, who once famously went on a hunger strike against Hindu-Muslim violence. Gandhi was the leader of India’s fight for independence.
