Traffic Signal Change Takes Effect Thursday on MD 32 at Kate Wagner Road

The flashing signal will change to a stop light.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) reports that the flashing signal at MD 32 (Washington Road) in Carroll County will be converted to full-color operation prior to the afternoon rush hour on Thursday, March 21.

The flashing signal was installed in 2009 in connection with the opening of the Carroll County Youth Service Bureau building on Kate Wagner Road. It currently flashes yellow for traffic on MD 32 and red for traffic on Kate Wagner Road. An evaluation of  traffic operations at the intersection has shown a need for full-color operation, including left-turn phasing, according to a SHA news release. At night, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., the signal will return to flashing mode.
