Carroll County public schools are closed today, but two activities are worth checking out if you have the kids hanging around the house. The Eldersburg Branch Library is hosting a of Cars 2, an animated feature film that stars the ever-popular Lightning McQueen character. The movie starts at 10 a.m. and lasts for about an hour and 15 minutes. The activity is for ages three and older. However if a movie doesn’t suit your interests, check out , 166 Airport Dr., an indoor children’s activity center. The play center is open an extra hour Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The so-called “Dracula Killer” committed several murders in Sacramento, CA, on Jan. 27, 1978. It was reported that he drank his victims’ blood. He was later given the death sentence for his crimes, but prior to being executed, he killed himself in prison.
