>> According to the Carroll County Health Department, the cost of a birth certificate will increase to $30 starting June 1. 

>> There's a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with a high of 83 degrees today, according to The National Weather Service

>> A Public Hearing will be held tonight at 7 p.m. for the proposed picketing ordinance Chapter 197 intended to regulate picketing in Carroll County. The public is encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held in Room 003 of the Carroll County Office Building.

>> The Carroll County Public Library’s Finksburg Branch will host Cranberry Station Elementary School’s 4th Annual Family Reading Night tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at 2265 Old Westminster Pike in Finksburg. Activities planned to promote reading include:

  • Showcase of student work from all grade levels
  • Story times provided by CCPL 
  • Summer Reading Club information and library card sign ups
  • Favorite grade-level author displays
  • Scavenger hunt, crafts, and more! 

>> The Carroll County Public Schools Office of Special Education, Partners for Success Center will hold brief information sessions for parents on the upcoming de-regionalization process. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Interested special education parents, general education parents and school staff are invited to attend one of the following sessions:
