Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary to hold first “Year of the Book” Signing Event on August 1

Avid readers and all residents interested in literature are invited to the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary’s first “Year of the Book” Signing event on Thursday, August 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Carroll Hospital Center main lobby. 

The event will feature a range of fiction and non-fiction book authors from in and around the community who will meet with attendees, discuss their books, which will be available for purchase, and sign them for guests. Attendees may also enter a free raffle for “Year of the Book” prizes.

The event is free and all proceeds benefit the William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center.

Expected to open in the fall of 2014, The William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center will offer a range of comprehensive cancer services to the community, expanding the services the hospital currently offers cancer patients.  The hospital’s current cancer services include the latest minimally invasive procedures, advanced medical, surgical and radiation therapies, the option to participate in clinical trials, as well as cancer navigation services, education and support.

Established in 1959, the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary provides support to the hospital both financially and through volunteer service. The Auxiliary consists of more than 400 community members — 190 which are active hospital volunteers.
