Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Kick-Off event!

On October 20th, the American Cancer Society will hold its third Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Watkins Park in Mount Airy. The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, unities nearly 300 communities to finish the fight against breast cancer. A Kick-Off event will be held on Sunday, August 25th in the showroom at Century Ford in Mt. Airy for survivors, team leaders and anyone interested in potentially starting a team for this year's Strides event. 

The free event includes brunch and will be emceed by Mount Airy Mayor Pat Rockinberg. Attendees can pick up team registration packets and gather interesting fundraising ideas.  Survivors can learn more about ACS support programs.  Kick-off event attendees must register by contacting Jen Burdette, American Cancer Society, at 410-781-4316 (option 3) or email jen.burdette@cancer.org.
