Linda ‘s Story in a Nutshell

The Linda Dore Pocket Full of Hope Marketplace Benefit is for a beautiful,
courageous and strong woman who was diagnosed in April 1998 with a spinal
ependymoma. She had surgery and had it removed. She was told it was benign and
that it most likely wouldn't come back and that she could lead a normal life.
She had 2 children and it came back when she was pregnant with her youngest
daughter. She had surgery again when she was 1 year old (her oldest daughter
was 3). At that point, she also needed spinal radiation and had horrible pain
afterwards for months. She eventually had intrathecal morphine pump inserted to
deliver morphine directly to my spinal cord. As the years went on, she had MRIs
every few months. She had some more tumors pop up. She had 3 in the brain that
was treated with gamma knife radiation (that was successful). About 4 1/2 years
ago, she had some more tumors pop up in the spinal cord, so she started on oral
chemotherapy. Some of the tumors continued to grow, so IV chemo was added. The
oral chemo eventually stopped but the IV chemo continued for about 3 more
years. She did very well on that until last November when it started to affect
her kidneys so she had to stop it. But then one of the tumors on T-10 started
to grow. She had surgery on 7/3/13 in an attempt to remove that T-10 tumor and
"shave" the tumor on the lumbar spine. She was supposed to be in the
hospital 2 nights. But something went wrong; when she woke up, she couldn't
feel her legs. She ended up in the hospital for a week, and then had to go to
Kernan Hospital for rehab, where she stayed until 8/9/13 and now still remain
in a wheelchair. She started back on the oral chemotherapy on 8/19/13.

Please stop & shop, bid on the Silent Auction and support Linda and her two
girls! Bring your friends and family to come and meet Linda!
