What can a girl do? Girl Scout overcomes obstacles to become top Girl Scout Cookie seller

The Girl Scout Cookie sale is in full swing in central Maryland! When Girl Scouts sell cookies, not only do they earn funds for their troop activities, they also learn skills that last a lifetime.

The Girl Scout Cookie sale is in full swing in central Maryland, and Girl Scouts are holding booth sales throughout the region every week from now until December 9. When girls sell Girl Scout Cookies, they are not only earning funds for their Girl Scout activities, but they’re also earning skills that will help them in business and in life. Girls learn how to set goals, make a plan, pitch their ideas and how to use money.

Girl Scout Erin Saunders used her goal setting skills to more than double her initial cookie sales goal last year, making her the top cookie seller in Carroll County. She strategized ways to help her boost her sale and sold cookies at her community bowling alley, held 15 booth sales and went door-to-door selling cookies from a wagon in her neighborhood.

Erin said she drew inspiration from her mom, who encouraged her to reach her goals. She also reached out to her network of family and friends who turned out to be some of her biggest customers.
