Blog: Mark Your Calendars for Two Seasons of FUN D Raising

HSP wants you to have a good time this spring and summer, and raise some money for a good cause while you're at it.

Human Services Programs of Carroll County, Inc. is looking forward to a very exciting spring and summer of fundraising activities. The support of these efforts are extremely important as it helps us to supplement our programs which in turn, helps us place our clients back on the road to self sufficiency. There are a number of events that will surely be of interest to folks looking for something fun to do while at the same time helping a worthy organization and its mission.

The month of March will kick off a string of activities that will help us continue to provide homeless women and their children with emergency shelter. The first event is HSP Night at Buffalo Wild Wings on March 26th. The Monday event starts at 4 pm and continues through the evening with a percentage of the food proceeds going to HSP.

Once you have eaten all that great BBW food, know that just a month later you can work it off by participating in "The Walk." The Greater Carroll Lion's Club will sponsor this event which will begin at 8 am at the Lime Kiln Trail and Park off Rt. 31 in Westminster. Sponsor sheets and flat fees will be accepted for this Saturday, April 28th walk.

Just a couple of days later, it's back to another fun, food event. On Monday, April 30th at noon, join us for a Gourmet Cooking Class/Luncheon at Bud's at Silver Run. The first cooking class/luncheon in January was so popular, it was a "no brainer" to have another in April. If you didn't make the first one, be sure you don't miss out on number two.

All this food, there must be some music somewhere? So glad you asked, as "An Evening with Cheryl Wheeler" is scheduled for Friday, May 18th at 6:30 pm at the Carroll Arts Center. VIP tickets are available that include special seating and a reception following the concert. Regular tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $50. Anyone wishing to purchase tickets for this event can do so through the Carroll Arts Center.

As if that were not enough--HSP will host a Month of Sundays Concerts each Sunday evening in July beginning at 7 pm.  A mix of local talent and top names will be featured throughout the summer series which takes place at the Westminster City Park. Stay tuned for more information and feel free to check out our website as these dates draw near. We hope that the community will continue to support our mission and do so while having a good time with family and friends.
