Community Partners offer advice and insight at Mock Interviews

On Friday, February 21, the Job Placement Network coordinated a very successful Mock Interview event at the Business and Employment Resource Center (BERC) in Westminster.  Between 9am and 12 pm, 98 mock interviews were conducted for more than 49 job seekers!

How is that possible you ask?  With a ton of support from our community business partners who served as our Interviewers and our Job Placement Network agencies, which coordinated and assisted with the event.  Each candidate received two 15 minute interviews, and were provided both verbal and written feedback from their Interviewer.

Mock Interviews are a key component in preparing people for a successful job search, giving candidates the opportunity to practice their answers and work out the kinks, while increasing confidence.  Candidates received feedback as well on their résumé, body language, attire, articulation of skills, concise and clear answers, and preparation.  Some of the comments from our candidates include, “very helpful for people returning to the job market”, “I really enjoyed this opportunity”, and “Great feedback. Thank you for giving me more confidence in this process.”
