New Park Named Westminster Veterans Memorial Park
Westminster's new 32 acre park will officially be called Veterans Memorial Park.
held a “Name Your New Park” promotion to help name a new planned park in the Westminster community.
The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board received over 200 responses to the promotion and reviewed over 60 different names according to a news release.
The Board voted to name the 32 acre park on Crest Lane Westminster Veterans Memorial Park in honor of the many local veterans who have served our country proudly in the armed forces.

James Rodgers of Westminster submitted the winning name. He will receive a $50 gift certificate to Carroll County Recreation and Parks programs.
Funding to begin the park design and engineering phase is scheduled to become available July 1, 2012 and ball fields, trails and a playground are anticipated for this location.
