Blog: Carroll County Band 'Yesterday's War'

Yesterday's War is a great example of the music talent we have right here in Carroll County. Check out one of their upcoming performances.

Summer, 2007. A couple of guys got together in Westminster, MD, and started writing music like crazy. That sparked the beginning of an interesting adventure, where they've played with national acts such as Alien Ant Farm, Psychostick, the Charm City Devils, and Fuel.

We're right in the middle of that adventure. Currently Yesterday's War is finishing up an album set to release this summer. It's being mixed by Steve Wright (SR-71, Slipknot) and mastered by Dave Collins (The Police, No Doubt, Soundgarden, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age.)

When asked about the album, lead guitarist Rob Holt said, "we are recording an epic album with great production." He is joined by the other band members, Denny Norris (Vocals/Guitar), Adam Spalletta (Keyboards/Backup Vocals), Rob Holthause (Bass/Backup Vocals), and Tony Ruiz (Drums).

Curious? They're already on itunes with a three song sampler, type in Yesterday's War in the search bar, and you'll find "Pineapple Doorbell," "17 Months," and "643." The band melds a solid rock tone with edgy vocals from Denny and company. Last month they appeared on 98Rock's Noise in the Basement. Yesterday's War is anything but noise however, with a very loyal and growing fanbase.

Denny Noris, Rob Holthause and Tony Ruiz all graduated from Westminster High School, while Rob Holt graduated from South Carroll High. Adam Spalletta is the only gentleman not from Carroll County, but his talent and tone match the natives perfectly.
