BEWARE!

If you value your wallet, bank account, dignity and sanity, never, ever do business with Mike & Norm's Towing, 2909 Dede Rd., Finksburg, MD.

don't you think it more "fair" to a fellow business person to give some details on your personal experience? This pout makes it seem trifling ... how would you like it if one of your clients from your hair saloon posted a similiar statement--no facts, no details...nothing

agree Judith

It all began with a $730 tow bill that had to be paid in EXACT cash, no change given, no nothing, no office (took place on a parking lot..felt like I was doing a drug deal) to have the car released and towed to a place of MY choice, since I was being charged $45 a day for storage, MY choice charges nothing. I was charged 3 days' storage even though the vehicle wasn't there 3 days.I did this because the accident happened on a Saturday and I was told when I called Monday morning that I had to make an APPOINTMENT to retrieve possessions that were in the car. It was an accident situation and the deputy present was the one who called this shyster company, not me. The two on the tow truck were filming the accident scene with their personal cell phones, which is unheard of! Then the fight started. I am unwilling to disclose more details (and there are many) as there is action pending.

I hope that was enough for you, Judy, to satisfy your curiosity. But as usual, your tone was testy, to say the least. P.S. I was even harassed on Facebook messaging by a 'friend' of the business. I had to warn him 3 times not to contact me again. This is NONE of any stranger-to-me's business. I told him to butt out and leave me alone and who elected him to be judge and jury.
Judith M. Smith January 18, 2014 at 04:39 PM
Pam...you don't recognize "testy..." Sounds like something is really fishy....not typical of this type of situation and you may very well be correct about the warning....sounds as though you were steered if the officer truly called and requested THAT towing service. Why it was filmed is really creepy...good luck with legal service, any licensing bureau in charge of the business, BBB, and the Attorney General...It would've pissed me off too...but my comment stands before you explained...glad you took the time to do just that...it was much more fair....
Lisa Haderman January 19, 2014 at 12:44 PM
I am now in agreement with Pam as this sounds like a shady shister business .It should be up to the accident victim car owner to call their own tow company not who the officer wants to call
Pam Hamburg January 20, 2014 at 12:59 PM
What I meant, Judy, was that your tone to me when asking me to expound with details was rather testy. What I provided is the Reader's Digest version. There's a lot more to it that I really don't care to divulge publicly. I'm well aware of the fact that something stinks about this whole thing. Also, remember a few years back when some Baltimore City police were caught taking payoffs from certain tow companies if they called that company? That may not be the case in Carroll, but I sure am going to find out. In an accident situation, it's almost always the cop who calls a tow company. That's SOP.
Judith M. Smith January 20, 2014 at 07:13 PM
Pam...good luck with whatever action you may take...I did not think I was "testy" at all...just asking a question to have an explanation about the framework of your exasperated blast. End of story...good luck

It will be more like very hard work and a lot of time to investigate, but your good wishes are appreciated! This poor excuse of a business is the single most unprofessional one I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. I'm not going to waste my time trying to sue. I've filed complaints with every single entity you mentioned, and then some. I'll be getting my money back as soon as the insurance pays out. I have no standing to sue. I CAN expose this place for what it is and put them OUT of business. The Carroll County grapevine is also working overtime, especially in the auto business, e.g., other tow companies, auto repair shops, body shops, and even dealerships that provide full service car repairs. Then there is the media. They are going to regret messing with this 'lady', as the moron at the lot kept calling me.
