2 Dead in Woodbine Car Crash

Police think the the car was driving too fast as it took a curve on Daisey Road.

The driver and the front passenger of a Volkswagen Jetta are dead after the car drove into a tree in Woodbine Friday night, Howard County police report.

Police believe that the car was rounding a curve too fast on Daisey Road around 7 p.m. Passengers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not thought to have been a factor, police said.

The victims have been identified by police as John Reuben Graybeal, 22, of Woodbine, who was driving the car, and Leah Christine Mcelgunn, 20, of Catonsville.

The cause of the crash was under investigation Saturday morning, police said.
