Two Carroll County men were killed in the Mt. Airy accident early Thursday.

Two Carroll County men were killed in an early morning car accident on Thanksgiving Day.

According to police, Ricky Louis Wean, 25, of New Windsor and Christopher Gerald Goldzwig, 23, of Keymar were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Just before 1 a.m. on Nov. 28, Wean, who was driving a Honda Prelude, was traveling northbound on Buffalo Road in Mt. Airy just south of Old Bohn Road when he passed the vehicle in front of him on a double yellow line, according to police reports. Goldzwig was the passenger in the Prelude.

Police said the driver lost control of the Prelude, crossed over the double yellow line and was hit by a Dodge Ram on the driver side.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Steven Marcus Bryant, 25, of Laytonsville, Md., was transported to Meredith Hospital in Hagerstown with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Collision reconstructionists from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded and will be conducting an investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision may contact Cpl. Frederick Timms of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 410-386-5900.
