3-Vehicle Crash in Finksburg Leaves One Dead

Traffic was closed in both directions on Rt. 140 at the Baltimore/Carroll County line while police investigated the accident.

An Owings Mills woman was killed in a three-car crash on Rt. 140 at the Baltimore/Carroll County line Tuesday evening, police said.

Ruchita Pandya, 32, of Owings Mills, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Baltimore Sun article.

According to the Sun, the driver of a 2001 Toyota Tundra, William Mark Lehr, of Westminster, crossed the center line on Route 140 in Finksburg and crashed into Pandya's 2007 Toyota Corolla, which was going in the opposite direction. The Corolla was pushed into a 2008 Mercedes SGL320, overturning the Corolla onto the shoulder of the road.

Lehr was flown to Shock Trauma for treatment of injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening and the driver of the SGL320 suffered minor injuries but refused treatment, according to a WBALtv.com report.

All lanes of Rt. 140 were closed while Maryland State Police investigated the crash just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
