Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 400 block of Mckinstrys Mill Road for a single vehicle accident involving an ATV, according to police reports.  When they arrived at the scene, sheriff’s deputies discovered that the driver had apparently lost control and struck a guard rail.

The driver, identified as James Lee Maticic Jr., 36, and his passenger, Debranne Linda Martin, 19, were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.  Both were found unconscious and unresponsive.

Medical personnel responded from Union Bridge Fire Company and transported both subjects to the University of Maryland Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where they were in critical condition, according to police reports.

Sheriff's Office Collision Investigators are investigating the accident.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Corporal Jeff Miller of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office at 410-386-2900.
