An Eldersburg bank was robbed Thursday morning, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents for help to identify the robber.
According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, a man entered the Bank of America in the 6400 block of Ridge Road at about 9:20 a.m. The man showed a handgun and demanded money, according to the statement.
He did not hurt anyone, and left the bank on foot, with an “undisclosed” amount of money.
The Sheriff’s Office said the robber may have been a passenger in an older model, burgundy Honda or Toyota 4-door sedan, something like a Camry.
The robber is described as a black man in his 30s, about 6-foot-4-inches tall and weighing between 220 and 250 pounds. He was wearing a black and orange baseball cap, a white t-shirt, grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information abut the robbery, or the identity or whereabouts of the suspect, to call 410-386-5900 or the toll-free, anonymous TIPS hotline: 1-888-399-TIPS (8477).
