Firefighters from 4 Counties Help Battle Woodbine House Fire

Crews found heavy fire and smoke inside the rural Howard County home, fire officials said.

Firefighters from multiple counties responded to a blaze in Woodbine Saturday afternoon, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.

First responders were called to the home in the 16000 block of Ed Warfield Road after 4 p.m. for reports of a room on fire, the department said in a statement.

Before firefighters arrived, two people who had been inside evacuated, according to the report.

Crews found heavy fire and smoke on both floors of the two-story home, the report said.

Approximately 50 firefighters—from Howard, Montgomery, Frederick and Carroll counties—responded, according to the report.

There were no injuries, and investigators were working to determine the cause and origin of the blaze, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

The home was expected to be posted as uninhabitable, the department reported.
