Fire Marshal Investigates Pennsylvania Avenue Fire

Pennsylvania Avenue was closed to traffic as Westminster firefighters battled a house fire Friday afternoon.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that took place around 1 p.m. Friday at 75 Pennsylvania Ave. in Westminster, according to a fire marshal news release.

There were no fire-related injuries reported. 

The two-story wood frame building was converted into two apartments, according to the fire marshal. The fire originated in a second floor bedroom and was reported by a passerby.

Structural damages are estimated at $40,000, according to a news release. 

It took approximately 30 firefighters 15 minutes to bring the one-alarm fire under control, according to the fire marshal.
