Man Charged After Hit and Run

A Taneytown man was charged with hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene.

The driver of a red Ford truck was charged in the hit-and-run of a pedestrian  at West Main Street and Old New Windsor Road around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6.

Kyle Wagerman, 18, of Taneytown, was charged with nine offenses in relation to the hit-and-run that sent Brandi Reichert, 36, of Westminster to . Reichert was treated and released.

Sgt. Scott Peter said that a man driving a red Ford truck hit a pedestrian and left the scene. A countywide notice was issued and a sheriff's deputy located the truck in Union Bridge. Peter said that Wagerman, the truck's driver, was stopped and detained while a crime scene investigation determined that the vehicle appeared to have struck a pedestrian.

Peter said that there were fabric impressions on the vehicle and damage consistent with the reported accident.
