Police: Manchester Man Charged With Stabbing Victim in Back

The victim was treated at Carroll Hospital Center and released.

Sheriff deputies said they charged a Manchester man with two counts of assault after a man was stabbed in Manchester early Thursday morning.

Police said the 22-year-old male victim was at a friend's house in the 3100 block of Main Street in Manchester when he encountered 35-year-old Edward Joseph Green. The two began to fight, police said, and Green pulled a knife and stabbed the victim once in the back.

Police did not release the victim's name.

The victim was taken to Carroll Hospital Center for the stab wound and with minor cuts from the fight. He was treated and released, according to police.

Green was found at a home on Chestnut Street in Manchester and charged with one count of first-degree assault and one count of second degree assault. Sheriff deputies transported him to central booking.

Anyone who may have seen the fight or who has information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Mike Lare at 410-386-2900.  Callers may remain anonymous.
