The man allegedly threatened another Marriottsville man with a handgun in his home and a female friend came to the house later to retrieve the gun, according to Carroll County authorities.

Deputies in the Carroll County Sheriff's Office charged a Marriottsville couple late Sunday in an incident involving a handgun at a Carroll County home, according to a sheriff's office press release.

Just after 9 p.m. Sunday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home in the 6600 block of Sunset Drive in Marriottsville for a report of an altercation between the homeowner and an acquaintance, who allegedly threatened the homeowner with a handgun, according to the release.

The homeowner was able to "wrestle" the handgun away from the  acquaintance before the man, identified as Jeffrey Clayton Turco, 42, of Marriottsville, fled the area, authorities said.

Alan appeared to be intoxicated and consequently was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence by deputies, according to the sheriff's office.
