Pedestrian Struck on Main Street Thursday Sent to Shock Trauma

A Westminster woman was sent to Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.

A Westminster woman was struck by a car today as she crossed Railroad Avenue at Main Street, police said.

Just before 11 a.m. Thursday, police said 31-year-old Rebecca Fielder of Hanover, PA, hit a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street. 

Mary Barnett, 46, of Westminster, was crossing Railroad Avenue from east to west in the marked crosswalk, according to police. The vehicle was turning left from eastbound Main Street to northbound Railroad Avenue when the pedestrian was struck.

Barnett was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Barnett was in fair condition as of 6 p.m. Thursday, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Police said the incident is still under investigation.
