Police: Homeless Man Falls 30 Feet Off Bridge, Suffers Broken Legs

Police said they are investigating how the man fell.

Police are investigating a homeless man's fall off a Westminster bridge Saturday night.

According to a Maryland State Police news release, Timothy Williams, 38, was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for injuries that include two broken legs.

Police said Williams, who has been staying in the area of Route 27 near Hahn Road, called his brother around 11 p.m. on Oct. 5 saying he had been injured.

Police received a call from the brother and then responded to a bridge on route 27 that goes over a railroad track between Hahn Road and Bennett Cerf Drive, where they found the victim.

Police believe Williams was dropped off in the area of Route 27 near Hahn Road by two friends, also homeless, shortly before 11 p.m. The homeless men told police they stay in a pickup truck. Police said they are unsure how Williams fell off the bridge.

Anyone with information about what happened to Williams or who may have been in the area of Route 27 near Hahn Road around 11 p.m. Saturday is asked to contact State Police investigators at 410-386-3000. Callers may remain confidential.
