Outages at Honeygo and , Beaconsfield and White Marsh Boulevard began at about 8:30 a.m. and caused major delays, requiring police to direct traffic through intersections. Baltimore Gas and Electric Company workers were on the scene as of 9:10 a.m. and power was restored before 10 a.m., the officer said.

Maryland State Highway Administration spokesman Charlie Gischler confirmed that signals had been flashing either red or yellow until they were reset following the power outage. By 10 a.m., they were functioning normally, Gischler said.

Gischler encouraged motorists to dial 511 on a hands-free device for free traveler information from the SHA the next time they encounter traffic delays on state roads.

I know a few people who were stuck in it this morning. It was a real mess.

I was trying to get to 95 from Silver Spring and Honeygo. All traffic had to turn right onto 43, make a U-turn at Perry Hall Blvd and come back up to 95. Not so much fun. After the signal lights were working, power was still out at the post office.

These two lights are frequently not working. It is getting kind of old.
